The Fourth International WASTE Symposium on Environmental process engineering and technologies will discuss the transition to a sustainable future, focusing on topics such as circular economy, smart cities and energy transition. It is intended to provide an opportunity for professionals in the fields of environmental engineering to exchange their academic and technical knowledge.

"Sustainable development is the development that meets the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own need." The industrial and economical development have always been a concern, but currently the discussion on how to  achieve these goals while protecting the environment became a hot trending topic that must be discussed and considered worldwide.

What are the roles of society, industries and government in the circular economy?

How have  the environmental technologies evolved in the industry during the last years?

How beneficial will it be for further developments in the green-oriented industry?

What is a smart city? What must be done in order to make a city "smart"?

Which are the renewable energy sources and how is green energy being developed?

The first step to address such questions is offering the chance to hold discussions about environmental technologies, framed on an academic occasion. The Symposium is aimed to find a coalition point for international speakers to share their experiences working and researching on environmental technologies in the fields of Solid Waste, and Waste Water Process Engineering along with Air Quality Control. As a closing appointment, a specialized forum featuring the International speakers will be conducted to share their perspectives on environmental technologies and the way that they are being applied in every invited country.

Students are also welcomed to contribute and foster the Symposium through the Call for research posters and projects, where they are invited to present their work in the frame of the event. The best three works from every category will be rewarded. Further details of the event registration and deadlines could be found in this informative brochure. Due to Covid-19, this year the IV International WASTE Symposium will be held online.

The Symposium is organized by the International Master of Science: Air Quality Control, Solid Waste, and Waste Water Process Engineering (WASTE) at the University of Stuttgart. All attendants will receive a certificate according to their participation mode.

We are looking forward to your participation in our Symposium!
